Welcome to DUST! We’re 15 members strong, own five of our own boats, have a professional coach, and we always have fun practicing and competing against other teams from around the Midwest.
Each practice could be your introduction to the world of sailing and a great group of students. Newcomers are always welcome throughout the year regardless of past experience. The fall season lasts from the first week of school to around Halloween, and the spring season gets under way around April first. We spend the winter working on our beach bodies.
Practices throughout the year are Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 4:30. In the fall and spring, we meet at the parking lot next to Swasey Chapel and return to campus after dinner (Chipotle! Panera!) around 8:30. In the winter, we meet on the balcony above the Mitchel track, head to dinner together around 6:00.
Come out for a fun time! Bring shoes and clothes that can get wet and a dry set of clothes. We provide life jackets, gloves, and foul weather gear.
